Bologna, November 17th, 2022. The 50th Anniversary celebration of Datalogic took place yesterday at the Unipol Arena in Casalecchio di Reno.
Founded in 1972, Datalogic is the perfect example of a forward-looking vision becoming reality: a photoelectric sensor company founded in the rectory of a small parish in Quarto Inferiore that soon expanded its design and manufacturing activities to the barcode reader sector and today boasts a turnover of over 600 million euros. The secret of Datalogic's success lies in constant technological innovation, thanks to investment in Research and Development, which accounts for 10% of turnover. "We have always kept up with the most advanced technological evolution, very often anticipating it, because innovation is in our DNA," commented a satisfied Dr. Romano Volta, Founder and Chairman of the group.
The company employs more than 3,000 people distributed in 29 countries, 450 of whom are engineers. It has 11 production sites, 8 R&D centers, 3 Datalogic Labs for the development of emerging technologies such as machine learning and artificial intelligence, and more than 1,200 registered patents.
At the Founder's side today is Mrs. Valentina Volta, Group CEO: "Thanks to the quality of our products and solutions, we now have more than 10,000 customers worldwide, many of whom are part of the 500 companies reported by Fortune magazine."
This true Italian excellence in the world is listed in the Euronext STAR Milan segment of the Italian Stock Exchange since 2001.
Dinner, entertainment, and commemorative videos marked the splendid evening. The highlight of the event was the presentation of the book "Romano Volta – founder of Datalogic," in which the founder of the company recounts firsthand what have been the many challenges he has overcome over the past 50 years. "I believe in what I do, and I do what I believe in, with the same enthusiasm I had at the beginning," the “Ingegnere” (“Engineer”, as the Chairman is usually called in the company) proudly concluded.
"Founding a company is a courageous adventure in itself, but ensuring its constant growth is an even more difficult undertaking," Mrs. Valentina Volta explained. "It requires relentless commitment, unshakable faith in one's resources, and a strong focus on results.
Together we will continue to grow and innovate and help create an increasingly sustainable and technological future."
