Datasensor: the new name in sensors and safety

Between 2001 to 2009, Datalogic focused its attention on the industrial automation sensor market through the new company, Datasensor. The Company introduced new application sensors, its first optoelectronic safety light curtains, and innovative vision sensors.

The application sensors offered a state-of-the-art solution for optical detection, for example print registration mark detection in packaging machines, while vision sensors allowed for faster and more accurate machine vision inspection in industrial automation. Safety light curtains were instead deployed in manufacturing machinery and plants to ensure reliable protection of the operators' body, hands and fingers in hazardous work areas on machines and systems. Typical applications are the delimitation of accesses and the monitoring of dangerous production lines, machinery, robotic cells, automated material handling and warehousing.

After entering the safety application market through the acquisition of Techno GR at end of the 90s, Datasensor began developing and producing its own line of safety devices to face an increasingly growing market as well as to respond to higher quality requirements and increased production capacity. It didn’t take long for Datasensor to become one of the major sensor and safety manufacturers in Europe.
