The success of Datalogic's sensors and, even more so, the explosion in demand for barcode readers, led to the need to increase the company’s production capacity with the opening in 1979 of the manufacturing site in Monte San Pietro (Bologna) in addition to the plants in Calderara di Reno and Erkenbrechtsweiler (Germany). This was just the beginning.
